R Ashwin 200?? Think you people are wondering what am I talking about, right?

Am I saying that Ashwin has picked 200 wickets? No, if I say that, I could see stones coming towards me…

Am I saying that Ashwin has played 200 matches for India? No, the match vs. South Africa in the Champions Trophy was the 200th one.

So, what is this 200 have to do here? With the wicket of Dilruwan Perera, R Ashwin has now dismissed 200 different batsmen in International Cricket, becoming only the 39th player to do so.

Against Sri Lanka on 5th June 2010 at Harare marked the debut for R Ashwin and it did not take much time for Ashwin to start the count when he had Tharanga caught by Kohli at slips with his 23rd ball in international cricket.

7 years and 2 months later, here is Ashwin with 486 wickets in his kitty, has now dismissed 200 different batsman in international cricket.

Breaking up the 486 wickets,

Who are the other 198 and when did the Indian stalwart dismiss them for the very first time?

Now, that I have said the all 200 batsman, there would be some players who would been dismissed one-too-many times by Ashwin and who are they?

With more new faces coming up in International cricket and with years of cricket left for Ashwin, hope that number goes up and up and he ends up among the top 5 on the list.

Wait… Top 5?? Then, who is the leader of this? It is Muttiah Muralitharan, who has dismissed 444 different batsman and who are the others?

It’s Goodbye from GK for now until my next post…
