GEN-NEXT CRICKET INSTITUTE

India is a cricket-fanatic country. Almost everyone of us at some stages of our life would have had a dream of playing the game in front of the crowd.

Is the dream alone enough though?
NO, Right?
Well then what more is needed?
You need someone like Whatmore to coach and mentor you.
Is Whatmore omnipresent? No.

But there are people like Whatmore (or) Achrekar (or) Rajkumar Sharma present all around. When it comes to Chennai, the training institute that rises up in the people's mind would be GEN-NEXT, mentored and managed by the Indian SPIN-KING @present, Ravichandran Ashwin.

Now Why Gen-Next?

Like Other academies, they do not enrol in bulk numbers. The enrolling is limited and they make it a point that every player under them gets individual attention and are helped by their coaches to amplify their strengths and attenuate their weaknesses.

Location and Amenities:

The institute is located in the most commuted part of the city (also known as the heart of the city), T. Nagar in the picturesque RKM Grounds in GN Chetty Road.

Coming to the amenities, the institute has adequate amount of practice nets, bowling machines, equipment for fielding drills and 12 wickets (7 turf, 4 matting and 1 concrete inclusive of the centre wicket).

PROGRAMS:

A Look at the various programs they carry out

Vision 2020:

Vision 2020, designed by Ashwin comes with the primary focus on finding the cricketers for the next generation. The young and talented kids (players) are developed and nurtured to make them competitively ready for the tournaments by the year 2020. Don’t be surprised when one of them from this academy goes on to wear the Indian cap.

This program runs all through the year.

High Performance:

Touted as the ‘brain-child’ of Ashwin, this programme offers intense coaching along with focus on the fitness for the players who are ready to play in the league stages. Mornings are for fitness trainings and evenings are for ground trainings.

With tie-ups with the gyms in the vicinity, the fitness programs keep an eye on the player’s fitness, apart from providing nutrition counselling and diets for its players.

Players representing Tamil Nadu in domestic tournaments can also be seen mentoring the HP players.

This program runs all through the year.

Weekend Coaching:

This program runs through all week-ends for the kids and adults who could not allocate more of their time for cricket.

This program runs all through June-March.

Summer Slam:

Now “SUMMER”- What would that mean for cricket? Yes, the little children in our area ruling the streets with the bat and ball. But in the present time, with most of the area going for parking, they have to find places to play.

But, don’t you worry. On a FCFS basis your kids can enrol @Gen-Next to play cricket. They can not only play the game with the same fun and zeal, but also in the process learn more about the game.

What’s more? The best kids from the Summer Slam would be offered chances to enrol for the Vision 2020 or the High Performance programmes.

This program runs all through the months of April and May.

EXTRAS:

Theory Sessions:

The game is not only about playing it in the field, is it? Some part of the game we need to play with our mind, the mind games, not necessarily sledging. Gen-Next provides theory sessions by bringing out experts/players from outside to give their players about the tactics need to be played and also providing some in-sights from the international games.

Weekly Reports:

For a stable system, there needs to be a feedback.

And the same is done by Gen-Next by providing reports on a weekly-basis, based on the player’s performance throughout the week. These reports are either given to the parents (or) to the player.

So Chennaites, do you want your kid to be one of the best cricketers of the next-gen? If so, enrol them @ GEN-NEXT!!!
